Today I came to the realization of something very important in my life... I am Dying. Now before you freak out, I ask that you dont worry about me, or make a big fuss. You see, its not right away, nor in a few days months or years. But none the less, I am. I understand that in time, when my sons children has children of their own, the true essence of who I am will probably be forgotten. I will leave this earth without much fanfare or parade. Yet when I inevitably depart, I will take with me a life time of experiences that are uniquely my own... I will have known what it is to laugh; to share; to embrace; to love and to forgive. I will have traveled to places; seen things and sampled a cornucopia of sensual delights and offences. All of which have made me who I am. I am not perfect. I have never been. But I do know that I am unique. My friends, family, loves, enemies all will have had a personal value to me. Each have given me something no one else ever could. For this, I will be forever grateful. When I leave this plane of existence, I will take with me these cherished gifts and never ever let them go. So do not cry for me. Do not curse me. Celebrate our shared existence. You see, at birth I inherited two critical afflictions that would eventually spell my doom... My first breath and my last. There is no cure, nor will there ever be. But my preferred treatment was to Live. I hope you all do the same.
