Today, I celebrate an anniversary - rounding out 7 years with my first job. Thank you to Lewis Lippner for recruiting me all those years ago. Its been a remarkable journey: Ive had the opportunity to help 55,000+ patients and personally interact with 100,000+ people in total; work with my 50+ fantastic support staff; I got to find and diagnose and treat 100 deadly melanomas, and thousands of basal cell and squamous cell skin cancers; ride 100,000+ miles (in 3 cars) across towns I had never heard of and memorized vast music playlists on the radio. All this, and I also got to give a woman the Angelina Jolie lips she had always wanted, got rid of a pesky 30-year-long foot problem, and diagnosed Lyme Disease that had gone undetected - and thats just last week alone. My patients write us the sweetest cards, bring books of mutual interest, and bring all sorts of wonderfulness in the holidays. Someone is always feeding me so I have a second family away from home. All of this has taken enormous love and human effort. I dont know how I got so lucky. What a strange, beautiful ride its been. So thank you to everyone for making the last 7 years of my life what its been. Please pass along to everyone whos not on Facebook!
