Today I celebrate being married 9 years. And by celebrate, I mean shoot Jeremy a text because he already left for work and I was busy with Lucy when he kissed me goodbye and didnt realize that it was our anniversary until I got a push notification from my time hop app. Tonight we will not go out for a fancy dinner, we will most likely have something like meatloaf with a side of macaroni and cheese because thats Lucys favorite. After dinner we will give Lucy a bath and change her trach ties, then fight to get her to sleep. We will kiss each other good night tell each other we love them and collapse in exhaustion. We will make plans for a fancy dinner or a date night that we know we wont keep and wake up in the morning and work towards our 10 year anniversary. And. ... I wouldnt have it any other way. I dont need fancy dinners, or dates. I dont need gifts or celebrations. What I need is love, honesty, trust, and strength... And I have that every day. We have made it through another crazy year. And we did it together. Its an amazing feeling being loved unconditionally. It feels good to know there is always one person who despite everything has my back. Someone who will tell me when Im wrong and stick up for me when Im right. I will always have someone in my corner. Jeremy, you are our foundation. I hope you always know how much I love and appreciate you. Without you life would just not be as amazing. You are by far the best husband and father these two girls could ever ask for. We love you. Happy Anniversary.
