Today I celebrate life. Today I am thankful that God has allowed me to live to be 50 years old. A half of a century. :) As I sit back and look over my life, I am truly thankful for all that God has done and is doing in and through my life. Although I am going through some battles right now ... I can look back at all the battles He has brought me through and know that HE HAS NOT CHANGED. What He has done ... He will do again. For the last 7 years, I always go through a remembrance phase because on April 12th, seven years ago, we unhooked my mother from life support. I spent my birthday that year by her hospital bed wondering if she was going to pass on my birthday. When they unhooked her from life support on the 12th, they told me that she would probably not last for more than 20 minutes ... but God told me that man didnt determine when she come in this world and they cant determine when she leaves. She breathed better without the life support for 3 days ... up until I prayed and asked God to let her enter in to her place of rest in Him. It was at the exact point of my amen that my mother transitioned. So although there is sadness associated with my mother being gone because I miss her in the flesh ... THERE IS ALSO gladness in knowing that she is in a place of rest. So as I celebrate my birthday today ... I also celebrate my mothers transition into a better place in God. Amen.
