Today I challenged my students during my gender class that if women in Malawi who are over 52% of the national population will not support their fellow woman who is now on top position of land, no one should ever ever advocate for women in top public position, because that would mean total fallacy and hypocrisy. Because this is their time, their dream and sweat has come true, why not holding hands and maintain this!! Why cant you join hands and celebrate this victory that a woman now is the head of state, something you have been fighting for for ages?? If you miss this opportunity, I do not see a woman become another president very soon in this male dominant society!!
