Today I checked the airfare from Delhi to Srinagar, and was rudely shocked to see that a single ticket costs as much as 30,000 rupees with 12000 being the minimum price on a sector which should never cost more than 5000 per person. Trains to jammu also totally booked with waiting list in thousands. This is peak tourist season in kashmir , and peak pilgrimage time in jammu. The government of Omar Abdullah , though very busy with tweets, 😡😡😡 should have worked with the airlines and ministry of civil aviation to cut down airfare as well start special flights, to boost tourism. It could easily have requested the new railway minister to add extra bogeys for pilgrims to Katra n jammu. That would have facilitated tourism, increased footfalls in the state and given a huge boost to the local economy. Instead the CM tweeted, the people suffered and the tourists went to Himachal and Uttarakhand. 😐
