Today I complete a three-part look at the Bible by sharing three more things that are of great importance for anyone wishing to draw strength from God’s Word. There are portions of scripture that can be very helpful . . . ➤ When you need comfort . . . John 14:1-3 KJV Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Fathers house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Romans 8:28 (NIV) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. ➤ When you are sick it’s good to know . . . James 5:13-15 (NIV) Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. ➤ The most important thing the Bible teaches is our need for Salvation, and how we might be saved. Romans 3:10 (NIV) As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one; Romans 3:23 (NIV) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 5:8 (NIV) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 6:23 (NIV) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 10:9-10 (NIV) That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Christian, it is very important that you know by heart the verses above about salvation. They can be extremely important as you talk with others about their need for the Lord Jesus Christ.
