Today I discovered the whole river polluted with either soap or some pollutant, possibly toxic. At first I thought it was snowing or icing! The river always has a little spots of collected detritus, but this is not normal and something I have never seen in all my years on the river. These splotches range from a dime to pancake size and accumulate in big clumps at rocks, logs, or other snags. This is not water churn that you see. It is alien foam sliding through. Maybe this is someones joke or a dump or spill, but in ANY case, the source of this atrocious act (deliberate or not) should be identified and the perpetrator or corporation (yes, they are now humans too) held accountable for cleanup of the entire affected area, which could be hundreds of miles.
