Today, I finally listened to U2s album Songs of Innocence. Some thoughts: 1) its actually good; 2) free is fine, but dont make it automatically owned by individuals - keep the choice there; and 3) the track about Joey Ramone is about the joy of musical discovery, and therefore ironic - its the antithesis of the way this album was released and marketed. During my sophomore year in high school, I took a bus to Westlake to purchase U2s Zooropa, which in turn led to this song below becoming a part of my personal soundtrack. The anticipation of choosing music to be a part of your life is part of the magic - lets not lose that.
