Today I finished up a scene left dangling yesterday. Then I wrote a small follow up scene. Got the next scene plotted, the opening lines written, and most of the dialogue and stage business sketched in. A good day. :) I like to leave off work like that, with an unfinished scene, or one just started. It gives me something to jump straight into first thing tomorrow morning, which is always the hardest time, fighting through that Resistance that happens as Im sitting down to work each day. Starting with a blank page or a fresh scene, even if I know what happens next, always makes starting to write that much harder. For more on Resistance, read The War of Art by Steven Pressfield.
