Today, I found a post on Facebook that a friend of mine shared of a guy video-ing himself while he disproves Evolution for the benefit of a now long gone Mr. Athiest, I cant say how ASHAMED I was to call myself a part of the same religion and belief as that guy. He displayed a SHOCKING ignorance of the subject of evolution. lets get this straight, Firstly, I am by no means an atheist: But Christians give me less and less reason to call myself a christian. Second, Yes, I believe in Evolution as an explanation for how life came to be. Third, no, i do not think that this world view is incompatible with a belief that includes an almighty and all powerful God. You may disagree, and that is completely up to you, you are by all means entitled to disagree with me. but what it doesnt entitle you to do, is to throw your faith blindly at a misunderstood notion of what science is, why are the people I call brothers in faith instead not learning and deciphering what has been put in front of them, rather than follow blindly in the bleating of the sheep, droning on and saying, no, this is wrong because I have no idea what a scientific Theory is. What faith doesnt entitle you to is to be so blind in your faith that you would rather cling to ignorance than accept what has been proven: study what has been proven with an open mind instead of approaching the subject with the same reluctance as you would have approached cleaning an abused toilet. Neil deGrasse Tyson said it best: and Ill forever be thankful for his ability to put into words what Ive long yearned to say. Science works on the frontier between knowledge and ignorance. Were not afraid to say we dont know, theres no shame in that. The only shame is to pretend we have all the answers.
