Today, I found myself thinking of JoAnn Hammon. She passed about a year ago. Ive seen so many people facing down cancer, showing such tremendous resolve, and conveying such a great attitude while fighting the good fight. Listening to Stuart Scotts remarks while receiving an award from the Jimmy V Foundation made me reflect on the support around a person that allows them to fight. I loved reading JoAnns posts on Facebook after seeing her after so many years at a reunion. Her love of her daughters, the courage she displayed, and the love of family and friends that must have served a source of strength. I am in awe of her, my aunt Laverne, Stuart Scott, and the countless others I know who have stared down cancer and fought the good fight.
