Today I found out that I lost another loved one to Cancer... Hodgkins Lymphoma. I met my great friend Kacie May, well... in May last year and she was so upbeat from the very beginning. Im not sure how she found me but she introduced herself and that was the first of SO MANY powerful conversations. I can honestly say that Ive never met such a deep thinker before. She was a true student of life and wanted so much more for herself and for her family. She wanted to bless the world. She had incredible vision and was a true giver. We spent HOURS and HOURS and HOURS talking about life, leadership, growth, and I learned SO MUCH from her... We became really close friends in the process. Ive never had anyone ask me so many questions and then CHALLENGE me when I wasnt holding my commitments. She was one of those friends who made me BETTER and for that I will always miss her. She wanted to make an impact in others lives, and though she never realized just how much she influenced others, I always made sure she knew what she had done in my life. She was so strong and inspiring that most of the time, I was fully unaware that she was not feeling well. She was so energetic, upbeat, funny and always tough on me... like an older sister. I will miss her tremendously, and I will always regret not spending more time in her last days. Her legacy will be one of fighting till the very end, and I know that today shed be yelling at me for not keeping the main things the main things... Tomorrow is never guaranteed and we shouldnt take our loved ones for granted - we all know this and we all break this law. I loved Kacie and what she stood for. I cant say I dont feel a little lost at this moment, its still not real to me... But Kacie, I will continue to fight the good fight and carry your strength and passion for change with me. I love you my friend, God bless you and your family. Rest in Peace now...
