Today I got a Lesson in Politics and what it means to make a bad bill better. Wow so much back and forth negotiations and opinions were happening in the halls. Fortunately we were in the middle of it. At the end of the day I do feel that everyone in approriations and human services committies listened to the voice of the people. If this vote had begun at the beggining of the month instead of on the last day I am sure it would have been sent back to DSS and The Molloy Administration. My Political Friends Were Painted into a Corner and did their best to Fix it. So Thank you to the Chair of Human Services Gayle Slossberg for all the work that you have done for our community. I appreciate it more than you will know. Thank you Co-chairs of appropriations Toni Walker, Beth Bye for your hard work. Thank you Tim Timothy Bowles and crew for the monumental support you have given. Thank you to all of our Republician Friends, Rob Kane, Gail Lavielle, Joe Markley, Craig Minor, Terri Wood for holding out your votes to make the Molloy administration nervious enough to send Ben Barnes and troops to the Capitol to work some deals. This is not what we wanted but it is the best it could be under the circumstances.
