Today I got in and Koa was in a different bed space. Because Koa - TopicsExpress

Today I got in and Koa was in a different bed space. Because Koa is more stable, they moved him to the back n a baby in very critical condition needed that spot. Over night the PICU as filled with babies/kids. God bless these babies. Aaaas for Koa........we come up to Oahu with great numbers aaand today not so much. Theyve made some fluid intake changes and Koas electrolyte levels sky rocketed. Sodium elevated at 188, potassium elevated at 3.3, n he is showing signs of dehydration. 😡 Aaand now they panic. After I told them to hydrate hydrate hydrate. Oh but science says hes receiving too much fluid so they cut him back .......biiiiig time. Im sorry, but the hell with science. Now because of this Koa is dehydrated, lytes is scary & blood pressure is funky. We are one step from being on I.V. fluids & I.V. meds.....😡 😡 😱 😱 His shishi is nasty. And they said no to antibiotics. They dont have a culture reading back so they are awaiting for that reading to see what cultures, so they know what antibiotic to use. 😡 😡 😡 They are discussing putting in a port a cath or under the skin IV access port. But no answers yet. The surgeon Malia the call if go or no go. Dr.s who I have never met came in asked questions about Koa n his condition. They are pain specialist apparently. ????? No clue. I am currently about to sit in a mtg with some specialist people to go over Koas emergency action. ((Again)) I am at the point of, say something stoopid! See what happens!. Lol. Over it. Koas hanging in there. His vitals...minus the blood pressure, is awesome. I am thinking of spending the night so I can give him more fluids. We come up for a tune up & end up near critical. How the ???? The Dr. on duty weve known since day , well hes heard my concerns & little itty bitty rant & says hell work on fixing Koa. HugsHoni&Blessings
