Today I got my opportunity to really show my appreciation to a man who gave me the drive and knowledge to succeed as a kickboxing instructor also as a fighter, You can see pictures with this post one is taken 5 years when I received my blackbelt from my sensei Martin Sheppard it was my proudest day I could start West Side , over two years he had retired leaving me to the same degree as himself 3rd Dan blackbelt another proud day for me from him , I was with him the day he received his grading he turned to me and said he never taught he would reach so high in Dans he said he felt so proud of himself , I loved his genuine passion for the sport I believe he passed it on to me with that grading So when I received my 4th Dan the first certificate I signed was his unfortunately he has been in Canada until today after a long travel home the last thing he expected was to find me at his door with a certificate for his 4th Dan he was speechless he was so took back by this he has decided to come out of retirement and instruct again this time in my Gym part time :) The reason why I have my belts with me is too show my appreciation for him getting me too the level that was needed to win these awards those belts have his name on them too and I wanted him to know it. Ill never forget what he has done for me , The 8 weeks camp has just gotten interesting ;)
