Today I got the privilege to talk with a student who claimed to be a pantheist/spiritualist. We talked for about 2 hours and it was a very intense intellectual conversation. I dont want to give details about this student on FB because I care for him dearly, but I wanted to share my own heart. One of the things we talked about was having a bigger picture on the world. How meshing all religions together gives so much more perspective and freedom. As I walked away from the conversation I realized how much freedom I have in Christ. Yes, meshing all religions together would seem to give so much more freedom regarding world view and morals and all that stuff. But really..... Being free from sin through Jesus is unlike any other kind of freedom. To many, the straight and narrow road of Jesus-Only might seem so constricting. When really it is more freeing than anything I can imagine. Today, Jesus became even more beautiful to me. And I wouldnt trade that beauty with a thousand religions in the world.
