Today, I had a privilege to attend an event in Etrobicoke to mark the 75th anniversary of Canada’s engagement in the Second World War. Beginning September 10, 2014 and up to the end of 2020, living Canadian Veterans of the Second World War can receive a tribute lapel pin and certificate in recognition of their service to Canada. I have awarded WWII Veterans from Etobicoke with tribute lapel pins and thanked them for their service. I encourage everyone to participate in Remembrance Day ceremonies across the country to honour the fallen, commemorate the brave, and thank all the members of the Canadian Armed Forces for their service to Canada and its people. Lest we forget.
