Today, I had a walk down memory lane in Thargomindah. Here I am with the Bronze sculpture of John Leahy (no relation). On 23rd July 1907 John Leahy became the speak of parliament and gained the respect of all sides for his measured handling of procedures, especially during the constitutional crisis over electoral reform in November 1907. In Thargomindah, one old house thats made from locally produced mud bricks has had some rather famous owners and is now the towns museum. Built 130 years ago, the original owner of Leahy House was John Leahy, and in 1912 it was sold to cattle baron, Sidney Kidman.
