Today I had an appointment with a Lyme Disease Specialist in Nashville. I was amazed by the doctor knowledge of the disease and the co infections that can come with Lyme disease. I will have to admit that I wasn’t really expecting what he had to say. It seems that I have at least 2 of the co infection. Dr. Kalb was probably one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever met. He went over all of the symptoms and explained everything including what symptoms went with what co-infection and did a lot of blood work. Today 8 new medications have been added to my list and some big diet changes that I am not so happy about. He explained the damage that the Lyme disease did to my disc and joints are permanent but with treatment the other symptoms should get better or go away. I am certain that the road is long but I have the right tools to start getting better.
