Today I had the honor of delivering an Angel Wrap set to a hospital. A few things Id like to... no I need to share with you. As I went to the elevator I passed the glass case of pink and blue baby gifts available in the store. Congratulations! Its a Boy! Daddys Girl I exited the elevator to the delivery and high risk unit there were a few families sitting in the lobby excitedly waiting. Again there were the beautiful displays celebrating all things baby. I was buzzed into the high risk nurses station with a short explanation of why I was there, I said no name of the patient for their privacy. As I was welcomed by the nurse I was asked if I was there for Kathy and no, that was not the name of my query. I gave the name and they gladly accepted the box and said it would be given. I immediately thought but did not ask who Kathy was and how sad that someone else may be in need of an Angel Gown. I had nothing with me to offer even if she had. The nurses seemed to not be aware of Little Angel Gowns so maybe they were confused about why I was there. All I could think all the way from the hospital to now was... I know the pain of the folks I just brought that gown to. I wanted to stop the world. I wanted to throw slip covers over all of the baby stuff and happy people. I wanted to make a path for them to get out of that place without all of that in their faces. I cant do that and I cant make their baby live. I can make a little pouch for their little one to rest in and I can deliver it. And I can pray that I brought them a measure of comfort since I cant stop the world.
