Today I had the privilege of bringing our own Dylan and Eddie Dunbar to Dublin Airport as they head out to Ponferrada, Northern Spain to represent Ireland In the World Junior Cycling Championships Road Race on Saturday. Also there were Stephen Shanahan from Limerick and Daire Feeley from Roscommon. Young Michael OLoughlin is already in situ as he was featuring in the Time Trial this morn and feature he did, managing a superb 8th place, against the best Juniors in the World. What I want to say is lads on behalf of all the parents, grandparents, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, friends , girlfriends, Facebook friends, dogs, cats etc. that we are all super proud of ye and hope Saturday is the race of yere lives. Its an unbelievably fantastic achievement to represent your country in the World Champs and it really doesnt get any bigger than this. Yeve trained hard all year and all previous years, youve sweat blood and shed some tears and ye deserve yere place amongst the best because yere as good as the best. Wear the Irish Jersey with pride and hold your heads high. Learn what ye can from the seasoned pros and absorb every moment. When that race starts Saturday morn ride those bikes like ye just stole em, but remember lads most of all lads fecking enjoy yereselves PS the race is live on youtube Sat Morn on UCI youtube, in case ye wanna watch.
