Today I had the privilege with many others to watch a video of one of my dearest friends have her cochlear implant turned on! I cried with joy when I saw her jump then smile when the first sound came thru. She wants to be able to talk on the phone again, listen to the radio and have real conversations with her family. Three simple things that I have always taken for granted and didnt completely understand that they were gone from her life. Lisa Coutts you have shown me a side of you that is truly remarkable. I never once heard you complain, or say why me. You never whinged ever about the cards that had been dealt to you. Instead you felt sadness that you couldnt be there for others during this journey. As the sounds come back into your life and your wishes come true thank you for sharing your precious and sometimes heart breaking story with us. Thank you also Lisa for showing me that miracles do occur and that they happen to people that deserve it. And to that marvellous husband of yours who texted me and said that he had had the best birthday present watching you hear again....well he owes me a box of tissues as well!
