Today I had to ride through a pothole on Oxford Street (couldnt safely swerve to avoid it), which was so deep that the impact caused my front tyre to puncture. Ironically, a pothole that I already reported via the Fill That Hole* site. Does anyone know whether maintenance of a key road like Oxford St does, in fact, come under the local council (Westminster), or whether TfL are responsible? Im going to put a complaint in writing - doubt itll do much, but given how important road maintenance is to safe cycling, I think I should anyway. *the name of this website never fails to make me snigger, because I am secretly 12.
