Today I had to talk a police officer into not harassing the homeless man I was purchasing food for at the grocery store... Even the deli worker sided with us.. that he was harmless and the cop followed us out the door. I am sad for the system up here. Its riddled with over worked/under paid folks that have grown callous to the bigger issues of these homeless men and women in Jacksonville. Yes they are troubled, and have huge societal issues that inconvenience most everyone, but sometimes you get that old man that walks up to you and asks for FOOD.. nothing else.... and you have to do whats right in your heart, regardless if it bothers others.
