Today I have had to bury 2 of a litter of 4 , 5 month old kittens - TopicsExpress

Today I have had to bury 2 of a litter of 4 , 5 month old kittens that we rescued from a pound recently. These little guys (3 boys & 1 girl) came to us seemingly ok, but very soon after started to show flu signs, stopped eating and became seriously ill. It is thought they have Feline Panleukopenia (Feline Parvo). All their symptoms are pointing to this diagnosis. The F3 vaccination guards against parvo but unfortunately a lot of people today think that vaccinations are not needed for cats. Some think it is just a money maker for vets, others think that it is not needed as their cats are indoor only. Feline Parvo is extremely contagious, even being spread by a human picking up the virus on the soles of their shoes. The two brothers I buried today bring to 3 the suspected Parvo cases. All I can say is if you really love you cat PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure that their vaccinations are up to date. Watching your cat have a seizure, bleed, not be able to stand up, having their blood break down as well as sitting in their water bowl, being horrifically dehydrated and many other symptoms is not something that I would wish upon anyone to experience. I have seen all of this in the last week and it has torn me apart. Please look at the attached link and, if your kitty is not vaccinated please go and book them in tomorrow to prevent them from dying in this horrific way......
