Today I hear the city of London has been put at risk as a dominant financial centre as the harshest rules will come in to force to reclaim the salaries and bonuses of bankers who have put their companies at risk by making bad decisions and / or ripping off their customers or counterparties. Eh? Like saying Jack the Ripper is leaving old London Town cause he might be found out as a bad person. May be the Regulatory authorities should offer those bankers free tickets to New York or Frankfurt or wherever they can sharpen their knives again against the wet stone of weak regulation. Wouldnt it be a freakish thing if a major institution said no bother love were staying or god forbid saying yep, were HQing in the UK cause that is something we are happy to live up to.
