Today I heard a Steve Perry’s “Oh Sherrie” while coming in - TopicsExpress

Today I heard a Steve Perry’s “Oh Sherrie” while coming in to work and I started thinking about Journey. Growing up in the SF Bay Area in 1970’s and 1980’s it was almost impossible to not be a Journey fan. Has I grew older I moved on to different music styles and bands and really didnt think about Journey until The Sopranos finale in 2007. Im not going to go into, is Journey good music or bad music, Ill leave that up for others to decide. I have my opinions but I think people have a right to like or not like an artist or group and who am I to tell them theyre right or wrong. I will say that the video Im posting today is the answer to why I myself started turning away from the music of Journey. It really wasn’t the song “Separate Ways” itself I found so unappealing it was the music video that Journey produced that I found so horribly bad. In the 1980’s all the bands from the UK and Europe were coming out with great videos with plots and exotic locales and Journey comes out with one of the most awful videos of all time. This is a video that has the band looking completely ridiculous as they play air guitar, air keyboards and air drums on a dock in New Orleans. It is absolutely one of the most painful videos of all time to watch. I know a music video is not the best way to judge a band but a historically bad music video was definitely my call to rethink the band Journey. But since it was what I was thinking about and then listened to right now I thought I’d share one of the cheesiest music videos of all time. I should probably post the Beavis and Butthead video making fun of “Separate Ways” at some time in the near future. https://youtube/watch?v=LatorN4P9aA
