Today I heard from the son of WWII veteran who I adnt seen in a few years. He confirmed that his dad was in the land of the living but full Alzheimers has kicked in and over the last month and a half has no recognition of my mother or myself - a man, who in my view, had the sharpest wit of anyone I have ever knew or encountered - a multi-talented person! So many of our veterans or their spouses are affected by Alzheimers or dementia. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to interview many of the veterans when their memories were still sharp. At present I am aware of a dozen of our Black WWII veterans that are currently in their 90s...Toronto- Stan, George# 1, George # 2, George #3, Roy Brockville- Bud..... Ottawa) Kenneth Sudbury- Hilton, Montreal-Calvin, Lloyd, Burt, Birchtown, Everett... Does anyone now of others not on our list?
