Today, I introduced comprehensive legislation to reform the security clearance process by which the federal government determines whether an individual is eligible to access classified national security information. H.R. 490 the Security Clearance Reform Act of 2015 will better ensure that the security clearance process is defined by a high quality and efficient background check system, continuous federal oversight of issued security clearances, and maximum information-sharing between federal agencies and state and local law enforcement.
