Today I joined a group of fantastic Pearsonites on a trip to Malabar Ext 6 which is a poor area in Port Elizabeth to help out at Jeannies Soup Kitchen, all organised by Pearsons Interact Committee. It was a truly moving experience and quite a wake up call to the drastic levels of poverty literally right next to us. The saddest part about it was seeing all these young beautiful kids with so much potential and realizing that theyve all got such a small chance of becoming anything better in life if something doesnt change soon. That change all starts with keeping these kids fed and FoodBank South Africa is an organisation trying to do this. They supply more than 70% of the food Jeannie is able to distribute at her soup kitchen. Their current major battle is funding so I did some research and Ive found a site where you can donate to FoodBank and help these kids and a thousand others to get fed. Please please take the two minutes out of your day to do this, what is two minutes for you clicking on your phone, is a full hot meal for a person fighting poverty and hunger. foodbank.org.za/can-you-help/financial-donations Thanks so much guys. Also thank you Michaela Rabe for the #nomakeupselfieforcancer nomination. Im using the selfie I took with one of the kids at the soup kitchen today as my no makeup selfie. Please SMS pink drive to 40158 to donate R20 to cancer research. I would like to nominate Tasmin De Jager, Jamil Klages and Nikki Conradie to post a #nomakeupselfieforcancer and spread the word about donations and donate themselves. You guys have 24 hours. Much love everybody and I apologise for the long post. ♥
