Today I learned: One of the first enemy POWs captured on D-Day 70 years ago was a Korean boy fighting for the Germans. He originally was drafted into the Japanese Army when Japan controlled Korea. Then he was captured by the Russians and sent to a work camp. When Russia ran short on troops, he was forced to fight for the Soviet Army until he was captured by the Germans and eventually made to fight for the German army. He spent time in a British POW camps and later was a POW in the US. After the war, he settled in Chicago, where he died in 1992. Whoa.
