Today, I left work behind and walked down along the coast trail. I - TopicsExpress

Today, I left work behind and walked down along the coast trail. I spent some time pounding rocks and saying why, why, why? and then I noticed the decay around me - in trees, in moss and lichen, in seaweed and in the white, empty crab shells that glistened among the rocks. Decay was everywhere. For a brief instant, I was saddened. More death - yet I know it is natures way. To everything there is a season, including us. And in the new growth that arises, and in the plants and mosses and mushrooms that spring forth, there is food and medicine for humans and other life forms. I realized again that Jay was a source of happiness for others in his short time with us, with his music and his caring ways. Its what he loved to do, make others happy. He left us early but must have known that he was a special gift to so very many by all the kindnesses that were returned to him when he was ill. Today also, I know that theyre still there waiting to share the painful burden of loss with us. I so appreciate them. Now, I will go visit his resting place with his grandparents and take lilies from the garden to place there and visit for a while. There are so many beautiful lilies growing here and they need to be shared. This one reminds me of Jay, bright with smiles and sunshine but with a flair for the dramatic and dark of night. Thank you all for being there for Chris and I today. One love.
