Today I listened to a city official of Leander explain how the city is dealing with its growth. He stated that growth in a community comes in phases. First phase is residential development with increased population. The second will be the amenities to provide retail and entertainment for the community. Thirdly when in place come the good paying jobs with major employers. All the time the city has to think on its feet to provide infrastructure and services adequately through the growth. It can be done in an orderly fashion. Through out the process the city is building its tax base as well as seeing increased sales tax revenues.
