Today I met my first homeless girl. Just 19 years old. As I held her trying to stop her from seizing I watch her lips turn blue. I prayed to God not to let her die. I wonder who was more scared...her or I? I heard the sirens and I knew all would be fine...or will it? Her shoeless feet were so dirty and the smell was more than I could take. I watched the emts do their jobs and knew she was in good hands now. A few minutes ago, the guy she was with came by and thanked me for my kindness. I didnt do much...just held a scared homeless girl. I asked if she was ok and he said yes...he was going back to get the car so she wouldnt have to walk. I wonder if she will really be fine...will there be a repeat episode in the next town. Too much of a dab of oil (TCH) was the reason she collasped. Breaks my heart that kids do this because there is nothing else. I have a face and a name of a 19 year old homeless girl forever etched in my heart. I wonder if we both will be fine from now on. True story...happened right at my shop... crazy huh??♡
