Today I nearly mailed a Christmas card to our newspaper carrier without enclosing cash. (So I opened the sealed envelope by putting it in the freezer, slipped in the money, and then resealed it with tape.) Made me wonder if sending a card without cash would’ve affected the accuracy of our newspaper delivery over the next year. About 10 years ago I forgot to slip the check into my then 11-year-old niece’s Xmas card and she just opened the envelope, read the empty money-holder card, and then sweetly said “Thanks, Uncle Mike.” Got a big laugh.
