Today I proudly announced the creation of the Conviction Integrity Unit. I have appointed veteran prosecutor Mark Gilson to serve as the Director. Mark will work with members of my Post Conviction Relief Act Unit to investigate allegations primarily of defendants convicted of homicide that claim actual innocence. My job is to seek justice every day and it is my hope that couples with other reforms that we have made, to regain the trust and confidence of the public that our goal is to only prosecute the guilty.
