Today, I released a very long awaited single, Difference. This song is extremely special to me. I hope it touches you in a manner just as special. Some tell me to not reveal too much to my fans, but thats just not who I am or who I want to be as an artist, so Id like to tell ya a few things. This past year has been as rough as it has been rewarding. Eric Downs has been investing his blood, sweat and tears into the production of my music. He has also dedicated just as much time as I in its overall day to day development, which is something an independent artist like me can only dream of. He produced this song, and yes, it took a long while mostly because Im a picky asshole. ANYWAY! As some of you may know, we were in a relationship and broke up last year. It was excruciating, but just like any end, you emerge a different person. Youve learned more about the world, more about what you need, want, and who you are. The future changes yet again. When I began writing this song, it was about another lover in another life. As it developed, and as my and Erics relationship ended, I realized its meaning is more than just a story I wanted to vaguely tell. Its about love, hope, faith or the lack thereof - that gut-crunching God, what am I doing? to God, I think I love him. Should I love him? You cannot read anothers thoughts. You cannot know anothers true intentions or feelings. One can only hope for the best and if you are a good person, the wellbeing of the other no matter the conclusion. The video was filmed by director Matthew Boyd in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles. I had placed an ad for a music video and his response was heaven-sent. He had wanted to shoot at his home, which was a remarkable location - absolutely perfect for what I wanted the song to look like. Without further ado, here is Difference.
