Today, I said goodbye to my best friend and closest family member. She and I lived and loved and played and moved together from city to city. Im talking about my wonderful, amazing Blondie-girl! She was exactly 19 years old. She was with me through all the rough times, exciting times, good news and life changing news. She really taught me the meaning of unconditional love. This happened suddenly, and Im beside myself with grief and guilt. All I can do is remember all the amazing times, how she loved to run up and down the carpeted hallways of the Joey Ray, that she loved to ride in the car... Or UHaul... :-), how she laid with me when I was sick or down, and that I was with her when the doctor put her at ease. Ill never be able to replace you, Blondie, but I know youre with mom now and all her other furry buddies. Next time I get to Tennessee, Ill take Blondies remains and spread them on Moms grave. Its what they both would have wanted. XO
