Today, I salute THE SPIRIT OF STRONG JAMAICAN WOMEN. I strongly believe (and I have said it here before) that if more women were in leadership in Jamaica, my country would be way ahead. This is not to disregard the contributions of our Jamaican men, no way, but it is to highlight Jamaican women who have made a huge difference and who stand up for what is right! SAY YES to strong Jamaican women--Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller, Jean Lowrie-Chin, Aloun Ndombet-assamba Janet Silvera, Barbara Lee, Janice Holness, Andrea Georgia Manning, Janet Johnson-Haugton, Hume Johnson Phd, Donna P. Hope Phd, Grace Virtue, Jennifer Keane-Dawes, Donna Duncan-Scott, Imani Duncan-Pryce, Deika Morrison, Carol Boeth, Totlyn Oliver-Banks, Sharon Wlliams, AND THAT NAMELESS JUROR WHO, NOT ONLY DID NOT TAKE THE BRIBE, BUT WHO ALSO REPORTED IT! The host of other women who may not be named here, I include you too. You all lead with conviction, commitment, and INTEGRITY! And to the indomitable spirit of Miss Mitchell, Ms. Dennis (teachers who made an impression on me in elementary school) AND of course, my mother, who taught me that pretty clothes and bad character nah seh nutting! Thank you! Thank you, dearly beloved Lovelette! Your fearlessness empowers me to stand up for what I believe, AND TO DO AND SAY THE RIGHT AND TRUTHFUL THINGS, EVEN WHEN NO ONE IS LOOKING OR LISTENING! Jamaican women who do, THANK YOU FOR STANDING FOR SOMETHING! It is true that the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world! Many just dont recognize it!
