Today, I salute/remember the brave First Responders and the - TopicsExpress

Today, I salute/remember the brave First Responders and the thousands of innocent people who lost their lives 13 years ago on 9/11. I was in midtown Manhattan when the 2nd plane hit and I will never forget. However, I also choose to remember the incredible sense of patriotism and the feeling I had of being CONNECTED to a national community. The events that took place that day made all of the things that seemed important... take their rightful place in the priority of our lives. In the weeks and months following 9/11; we all were a little KINDER, a little more TOLERANT, and a bit more concerned about our fellow man. We were all forced to focus on the things that were truly important to us and re-evaluate how we were living our lives. Sometimes, in the years since - when life shows up - I think about what really mattered to me in those days, weeks and months following 9/11 and I am reminded what is truly important to me.
