Today I salute those who deployed to Grenada for Operation Urgent Fury 30 years ago. Many of my friends got to spend a few weeks on that Caribbean island rescuing American students and chasing Cubans from a base they were building. I ,sadly , was in 82d Replacement Co. when the initial invasion went down and almost got to go before it was decided not to send more guys. Nevertheless, it is still a time I will not forget. .
