Today I sat and listened to my sisters talk about land and people. - TopicsExpress

Today I sat and listened to my sisters talk about land and people. Somewhere I lost my way. My desire to return home to work for my people had diminished and I borrowed the jaded lens of others to view my territory.. Its all just money, just a cold unbearable land, driven by money and even questioned my sense of community, of belonging there. It is my home though, where I was raised, where the land knows my name. I made up my mind today that I will return next year because I need to. Not because my people need me or the land needs me but it is because on This journey of decolonization and growth and purpose- I need my people, I need my land. Then I thought... What of the Peace River? Do I even have a home without it? Can I still say the land knows my name if so much has changed in the short years Ive been gone? reclaimthewarrior.wordpress/2014/11/10/dear-river/
