Today I sat at my local favorite restaurant for business lunch and felt sad. I found out that the oil they use on their salads is a blend of olive oil and canola oil. I had assumed they were using olive oil, but like many restaurants the owners are trying to cut down on costs, doing their best to survive in an economy that still challenges small businesses. The canola oil is cheaper. The only problem is the canola is most likely GMO. :-( They have offered to bring me olive oil and balsamic vinegar for my salads instead. That is wonderful of them. What about all the other customers? They probably are not even aware of what has happened to their food over the past two decades. But isnt it sad that we cannot get old fashioned food at a reasonable price anymore? Well, I am convinced that this will be turned around. I feel it in my heart and bones. We will turn this tide. We will say no to GMO and all the Monsantos, Dows, and all the other biotech companies promoting such seeds of illness in our foods. We will refuse to purchase their products and we will gather heirloom seeds, we will plant them, and return this planet to a place where the rivers run clean, the air is sweet and all the people whether two-legged, four legged, winged or finned will live in an environment free of GMO, pesticides and herbicides.
