Today I saw a woman in a wheelchair pushing a man in a wheelchair - TopicsExpress

Today I saw a woman in a wheelchair pushing a man in a wheelchair down the sidewalk near Commonwealth Stadium as if it was every day business. It spoke honestly of the true American spirit and even further of mankinds capability. It was the type of image that puts things into perspective. Im guilty of not helping others when my knees are hurting or I feel less than 100% in any other way. We have a responsibility to each other thats only ever impeded by our own self concern. Were ultimately far more capable than we allow ourselves to be. It may sound cliche, but pushing ourselves to that next level of human participation is the difference between living in a cave and building steel structures. Its the difference between a society based on slavery and one based on civil rights. Its the difference between light and dark, right and wrong, or knowledge and ignorance. With every part of me I mean to have the perseverance and selfless nature of that woman in the wheelchair. Im saying this because those things are in me to do due to people in my life who have taught me these things. My family, my friends, and even strangers who may not know that they were teachers in a moment of eternal importance. If you can read this then youve either been one of those people or youre perfectly capable of such a thing. Im humbled today and I hope that Im held accountable by all of you to help push you along to where were all going as you do for me.
