Today I saw the DC Comics release schedule for their onslaught of movies. 2015 through 2020. All I could think while reading all the articles is that DC is a little late to the dance. Yeah I know they are the ones that have been cranking out superhero movies since the late 80s. Batnipples included. But Marvel has claimed this wave for their own and doing an okay job. I say okay because Guardians of the Galaxy was already showing a bit of pandering. But anyway. . . Does anyone else feel that DC is getting into over their head? I mean Man of Steel wasnt really all that great and seemed about 30 minutes too long. Nolans Batman was old beyond years when it came to the last villain. Bane. The Kirsten Stewart of comics movies. I personally think we are at the apex of universally accepted comic geekedom and about to slide down the other side of the hill. Vampire had their run. The Zombie fanatics have been dying off. Superheroes are just next. Not to even mention that DC is hamstringing themselves with this two different Flashes. The one cool and somewhat unique idea was introducing characters through TV. You know the ones that arent the Holy Trinity and see if they can get a fan base. Then use those characters to crossover between movie and TV trash that idea.. Marvel was doing the same thing with Agents of SHIELD but as an after thought. And not a good one either So is it just me or is DC just trying to ride the coattails of Marvel, which is coming close to the twilight of their big @$$ movie checks?
