Today I spent some time in Kuranda talking to Business Owners locals Indigenous Elders and also people from Cairns visiting Kuranda. All a common theme wanting security off jobs for young people. They are very appreciative of our upgrade to Yorkeys Knob for the cruise liner industry. A $2.5 m upgrade so that the large cruise ships who spend millions of dollars into our local economy have more time in towns like Kuranda. Great for employment and small businesses. Great to see young tradies who had worked on the upgrade to the Barron Falls hotel. Very supportive.
