Today I took up an invitation to visit Lands End Airport, home to the Steamship Companys Skybus operation to and from the Isles of Scilly. Some public money and a lot of private money has been spent and the result is a much more resilient service. It may just be a man-thing but I loved visiting the control tower and snooping around the hangers where the maintenance programme takes place. Over 50 new jobs have been created within the Steamship Company since 2010 and there appears to be a need to train up more skilled engineers to care for the fleet. I have to say todays visit was a definite plus in the life of a Parliamentary Candidate.
