Today I visited the Meridian Police Department and am happy to report that the atmosphere inside that building is 100% different.. the Morale is out the roof. I had a great visit with several of our officers and particularly enjoyed visiting Chief Buck Roberts. They would like for the members of Community Watch to know that there is now a liaison between Community Watch and the MPD and are now, once again, allowed to communicate freely with the citizens. They have asked to let you know that if you have any questions or issues youd like to have addressed, we now have an ear. Already, the MPD is working side-by-side with Sheriff Billy Sollie and the LCSO! Also, if anyone creates a Neighborhood Watch, an officer is ready to provide you with additional information that can be utilized to create a safer environment. Positive change is coming... we are getting OUR Meridian Police Department back.
