Today, I voted against Rep. Paul Ryans extreme, harmful budget. The Ryan budget would end Medicare’s guaranteed benefits, slash investments in education and infrastructure, and keep incentives for companies that ship jobs overseas while forcing middle-class families to pay more. Connecticut families deserve better from Congress. Instead, I voted for a responsible budget that focuses on pro-growth measures to create jobs and that protects Social Security and Medicare. Congress needs to work together to make smart cuts and reduce our deficit responsibly--not on the backs of middle-class families and seniors.
